The Cirrus Research Low-Cost Integrating Decibel Meter
The CR:310 is an integrating decibel meter ideal for simple noise measurements and basic noise at-work measurements. In addition to measuring the maximum sound level (LMax), CPeak, and the sound pressure level (SPL), the CR:310 provides average noise level data (Leq) and the overall dose values (Leq8h), this allows it to be used for basic workplace noise assessments.
The decibel meter also displays A and C frequency weightings, as well as Fast and Slow time weightings which other basic sound level meters available on the market cannot. The CR:310 displays the Leq for one measurement, using the start/stop button on the instrument. You can also send the measurements directly to a portable printer (sold separately).

The CR:310 is an integrating sound level meter designed for simple noise measurements and basic workplace noise assessments. It provides sound pressure level (SPL), maximum level (LMax), average level (Leq) and overall dose (Leq8h) data for quick and reliable results.
Yes. The CR:310 meets the international noise measurement standard IEC 61672-1:2013 Class 2, ensuring accurate and consistent measurement results.
It measures SPL, LMax, Leq, Leq8h and CPeak, with both A and C frequency weightings and Fast/Slow time weightings – making it more capable than basic non-integrating meters.
Yes. Because it provides average noise levels (Leq) and 8-hour dose values (Leq8h), the CR:310 can be used for basic workplace noise-at-work assessments.
The meter runs on 2 × AA cells or 5 V DC via USB, and typically offers around 24 hours of battery life for long measurement sessions.
You can connect a portable printer (sold separately) to print measurements directly from the meter.
Unlike simple non-integrating meters, the CR:310 calculates average (Leq) and dose (Leq8h) noise values, which are needed for workplace noise assessments and compliance checks.
The CR:310 integrating decibel meter should be field-calibrated before and after use with an acoustic calibrator to confirm accuracy. For formal measurements and compliance purposes, the instrument should also receive annual laboratory calibration, which can be provided with UKAS-traceable calibration.
