If you are using vibration measurement instruments to meet regulations such as The Control of Vibration at Work Regulations, it’s essential that your equipment is measuring accurately and that you are getting data on which you can rely.
As with any measurement equipment, calibration is an essential part of the process of gathering accurate data and making informed decisions as to the outcomes and actions needed.
Traceable calibration of vibration meters
To help you meet these needs, Cirrus is now able to offer traceable calibration for a wide range of vibration measurement equipment. This service is available for both Cirrus and non-Cirrus products and provides you with a detailed performance report for your vibration measurement equipment.
The service covers the verification of equipment in accordance with ISO 8041/A.1 using mechanical excitation. All of the equipment used is calibrated directly to National Standards according to ISO 10012.
What does this mean?
Traceable calibration means that the equipment that is used to calibrate your instrument also has a calibration certificate that can be traced back to a recognised standard. In this case, our vibration calibration equipment is calibrated by DKD in Germany. Details of the equipment that we use and its calibration certificate are shown on the calibration certificate that we supply for your equipment.
This means that you can be sure that what we do is accurate and that the calibration chain can be traced back to a primary calibration standard.
If you’d like any more information about the traceability of calibration, please do get in touch and let us know.
