Noise At Work Awareness Course

This 4-hour noise at work awareness course will give you a background in measuring sound and why it is of concern. We’ll take a look at the general health, workplace safety and risks posed by noise to people’s hearing. We’ll also look at the duties and responsibilities outlined in the Control of Noise at Work Regulations (2005) for both employers and employees. We’ll also cover both the theory and practical side of noise measurement and control and include useful tips on taking measurements and analysing results. We focus on what you need to know to be competent in noise risk assessments and how you can use your results to implement suitable control measures and prescribe suitable hearing PPE to prevent potential harm to your employees.

About your Tutor, Craig Storey

Craig Storey has a Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering and a post-graduate Diploma in Acoustics. He has worked in computing for a large multinational for 17 years plus, then in the acoustic field for 10 years with Cirrus Research. Craig is the Business Development team manager responsible for the environmental noise solutions and technical projects; he looks at customer issues with noise and offers bespoke solutions ranging from noise assessments to permanently installed noise monitoring systems – and everything in-between. Craig has experience in many business sectors from Aviation to Mining to Logistics to General Manufacturing.
