At Cirrus Research, we believe that supporting our community is just as important as providing high-quality noise and vibration monitoring equipment. Recently, we were delighted to donate more than 200 digital thermometers to organisations and families who could put them to meaningful use.
These units, originally part of a discontinued product line, offered us a valuable opportunity: rather than keeping them in storage, we wanted to redirect them to people and groups who would truly benefit. Through this initiative, we were able to support several fantastic organisations that play an important role in our region.
Shine 21 – Supporting Children with Down Syndrome
A portion of the thermometers were donated to Shine 21, a charity dedicated to supporting children with Down Syndrome and their families. Shine 21 provides early intervention, education and parent support, helping children develop essential communication, physical and social skills. These thermometers will be used by families and the organisation to support wellbeing and day-to-day care.
Dad’s Behaving Madly – Empowering Fathers and Carers of SEND Children
We also provided thermometers to Dad’s Behaving Madly, an organisation that brings together fathers and carers of Children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Their work helps reduce isolation, build support networks, and empower families through practical activities and engagement. The thermometers will support the families they work with, helping parents monitor their children’s health with ease.
Supporting Local Families
Finally, a number of thermometers were distributed directly to local families within the community, ensuring that this equipment reached as many households as possible. With the cost of living continuing to affect many families, having access to simple health tools like digital thermometers can make a real difference.
Proud to Give Back
This donation reflects out ongoing commitment to supporting the wellbeing of our local community. While our core expertise lie in noise, vibration and environmental monitoring, we are always looking for ways to make a positive impact beyond our industry.
We would like to thank Shine 21, Dad’s Behaving Madly, and the families we connected with for the incredible work they do, and we’re proud to be able to support them in a small but meaningful way.
