    Protect Your People

Just like air pollution in the environment and trip hazards at work, noise poses significant risks to people’s health and wellbeing. According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), after air pollution, noise pollution is the second largest environmental cause of health problems. And in 2019, it was reported that 17,000 people suffered from work-related hearing problems.

Not only can noise cause annoyance and distress, but it can also lead to more serious health conditions, such as hyperacusis and tinnitus. Research has shown that people with these conditions can also develop mental health illnesses. There is also data that shows that people are at greater risk of developing conditions such as high blood pressure and ischaemic heart disease if they are exposed to excessive noise levels.

Noise in the workplace and the environment can be controlled. Cirrus Research provides a range of solutions to make it easy, simple and less time-consuming.

    Protect Your Business

As with all aspects of occupational health and safety, there are strict rules and regulations that govern noise in the workplace.

The Control of Noise at Work Regulations were introduced in 2005 and stipulate exactly what employers must do to reduce the risks posed by excessive noise exposure, thereby protecting their staff from potentially life-changing conditions brought on by high sound levels.

Overseen and enforced by the Health and Safety Executive, the Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005 are a legal requirement and are enforceable on any business, regardless of the sector, with large fines imposable on those organisations that are found to be non-compliant.

Cirrus Research offers a range of solutions to help you protect your business and ensure that you’re compliant with health and safety regulations.
